We have been here for over 2 months since Nov 1st 2016. The people are amazing and the staff bend over backwards to help. This is a community like any other and you have get out of your camper and meet the people. I have not met anyone that was not friendly. There is something going on all the time here in the campground for us to do. I have to say I love it here. It is very different living here than my farm in Illinois where the neighbors live a ways apart and they each are busy with farm life or raising children. Nice campground. Great fishing but if you have dogs or are an outsider good luck. After 2 days they said they couldn't accommodate our step up. Didn't like the smoker, small trash can or a little portable fence for our dogs. Didn't fit into neighbors clique. Wouldn't stay here.
The lake is beautiful with a shaded dock for reading or chilling outside. The community was quiet but has bingo and shuffleboard and horseshoes.
After coming to OAK HARBOR for 9 or 10 years , we decided to finally buy a place here. It is by far the best park we have ever stayed in. We travel pretty extensively and the owners of OAK HARBOR ( The Anderson's )are the best. All the residents here are very friendly and it seems that sooner or later they all end up purchasing a place. We are on a Beautiful 1000 acre fishing lake. It's a very active park if you so choose. Something fun is always going on. It has been a family run park since the 70s so needless to say the Anderson's know how to run a wonderful park to have people coming back year after year. Thanks Oak Harbor for making us all feel welcome when we return in the fall.
This is good medicine. if you want to chill meet nice people and make friends. Try this place. It's awesome!
This place is exceptional. The cabins really maximize space and are immaculate and so cute. We thought we had booked one with an overhead loft and when we realized we hadn't requested that and were short a bed we talked to management. They let us use "the hut" which is tiny but adorable even without prior reservations. They were extremely prompt when we thought we'd blown a fuse.
